Staff are experienced in managing disclosures from children and how to refer cases to the Safeguarding Lead.
The school has a Designated Safeguarding Lead - Miss D Barker
The school has a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead - Miss Yasmine Lancaster and Mrs Gail Degnan
The School has two designated Safeguarding Governors - Mrs Laura Jones and Mrs. Charlotte Huscroft
Safeguarding Policy
Grange Moor Primary School works with a number of agencies to ensure the effective safeguarding of children and will use them for advice and for proceeding with concerns.
If we have a concern about a child or a disclosure is made to a member of staff, this will be recorded and referred to the Designated Senior Lead. If we do have concerns regarding a child we will speak to the child's parents. If we believe a child is at risk or in danger of harm, we will contact the Duty and Assessment Team in Kirklees.
Any concerns we have in school are logged using CPOMS (Child Protection Online Management System) and all staff in school are trained in how to make accurate records of concerns regarding children in our care.
If you think a child might be suffering neglect or abuse, it can be difficult to know what to do. Your action is vital in making sure that child gets the help they need.
Attendance and punctuality is closely monitored on a daily basis. If your child is absent without a reason given we will always ring home to check they are safe. This is known as first day calling. Please ring the school office after 8.00am to report an absence.
